5 Reasons You Need a Vacation Immediately

Drop everything and go!

Fuck it, completely unplug and focus on things you want and like to do for a few days.

Get away from the stress, responsibilities and bullshit that consumes you on a daily basis.

Focusing on yourself for a few days can do wonders for reconnecting with family, friends and loved ones.

So put down the phone, tuck away the laptop and enjoy your time away.

Here are five reasons why you need a vacation:

1. Vacations Relieve Stress

Stress can have an overwhelming negative effect on all aspects of your life, plain and simple.

It can destroy your physical health and crush you mentally and emotionally.

It can cause you headaches, back pain, anxiety, irritability and lack of concentration.

In the age of the “grind” we feel like we must constantly be on the move in attempts to be as productive as humanly possible.

We lead busy lives with crazy schedules and put overwhelming amounts of pressure on ourselves at every waking moment. We make excuses that we cant take time off or that we cant get away.

But are you doing more harm than good?

A few days away will help lower blood pressure, improve sleep and build back up your immunity, leaving you fresh and rejuvenated when you return.

2. It’s Time to Clear Your Head

Your brain is overworked. Most peoples are.

Constantly being on the go and taking care of responsibilities in both your personal and professional life can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting.

Vacations can alleviate these stresses by giving you a fresh perspective and calming your nerves.

3. Your body is literally begging you to take a break. Stop ignoring it

Giving yourself a break will help you become renewed and come back even stronger.

Set a work goal for the morning, get it done and take a 20 minute break. Do not fall into the “busy trap”

A study done by researchers at Florida State University in which they looked at the performance of elite athletes, musicians and chess players, found that the best performers practiced in intervals of 90 minutes. They often took breaks between sessions and hardly ever worked more than four and half hours a day. That's how you properly recover.

4. Day dream by the beach, solve problems and be more creative

Get to a beach! Any beach. Sit in silence and watch the ocean.

Let your mind run free giving your brain time to wind down and think about nothing at all.

Your moments of your greatest creativity and insight will then follow.

5. Improved productivity

After a much needed night away or a few days at the beach, you will come

back motivated and ready to produce.

Take time off with no phone, no computer and no work in general.

No more excuses! Do yourself, loved ones and employees a favor, take a

vacation!
